Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a university degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Math, Accounting or related discipline
Experience: Candidates should have experience gained in cost and scheduling control for large multi-disciplined projects and maintenance systems
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be proficient in using office technology, software, and applications
- The candidates should be able to apply accounting principles and practices
- The candidates should possess analytical skills and be capable of applying them effectively
- The candidates should have an understanding of relevant laws and regulations and be able to apply them appropriately
- The candidates should be skilled in project management
- The candidates should demonstrate specialized expertise and knowledge in the assigned field
- The candidates should possess a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), or Project Risk Management Professional (PRMP), which is considered a definite asset
- The candidates must have extensive knowledge of cost controls, risk management, and scheduling techniques. They must also be proficient in using computer-based scheduling systems and other computerized applications related to the work, such as MS Project Online, Maximo, Primavera, and MS Office
- The candidates should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of maintenance principles, standard accounting principles, practices, and methods required for capital and operating budgets preparation, as well as project appraisal principles
- The candidates should have good knowledge of the concepts and practices relating to project controls and project management systems
- The candidates must possess sound judgment, proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to successfully prioritize conflicting demands
- The candidates should have the ability to coordinate with others in order to accomplish objectives
- The candidates must have or obtain knowledge of the TTC’s budgeting process/procedures and relevant cost control and financial systems
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to report to the Head, Renewable Energy Programs and be mainly responsible for project, program, and portfolio control activities, including budget preparation, cost control, risk management, and scheduling, as they relate to a variety of capital projects and operating budget activities for the designated Department
- The candidates should be able to provide key project cost and schedule management support for the section’s multi-million-dollar capital and operating budgets through various preparation, planning, analysis/monitoring, and reporting functions
- The candidates should be able to develop planning systems required to demonstrate how projects will be executed and controlled
- The candidates should be able to analyze and monitor project cost and schedule performance, ensuring projects achieve planned objectives while minimizing exposure to risks
- The candidates should be able to provide input in the development of departmental policies, procedures, and progress standards for project planning, cost, risk, and schedule control
- The candidates should be able to provide project cost, risk, and schedule information to the Senior Staff members on a regular basis
- The candidates should be able to ensure the timely reporting of project/program costs, risks, and schedule performance to facilitate effective decision-making
- The candidates should be able to prepare and ensure applicable inputs for project cost/financial data, budget forecasts, schedules, and contract management documentation
- The candidates should be able to review and validate all work requests, ensuring conformity to project work plans and budgets
- The candidates should be able to develop and assemble monthly reports, comparing current actual costs with budget costs, comparing current progress with work plan schedules, coordinating the investigation and explanation of variances, and forecasting significant variances and trends through monthly Project Status Reports (PSR) and Departmental Progress Reports (DPR)
- The candidates should be able to perform communication and liaison with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve issues relating to project controls reporting and to ensure consistent alignment of project data
- The candidates should be able to create and maintain an assets inventory list and report on a monthly basis
- The candidates should be able to participate in the TTC’s Customer Service Ambassador Program
