Requirements:

Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing to work long hours during peak periods, including evenings, statutory holidays and weekends
- The candidates should have the ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in handling matters that are confidential, sensitive and/or controversial in nature
- The candidates should be able to travel to various training sites across the city
- The candidates should be able to monitor, track and report on project deliverables
- The candidates should be able to supervise, motivate, and train assigned staff, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality, organizational performance, continuous learning, and encouraging innovation in others
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience designing, producing, and evaluating training and training materials for a variety of learners in both traditional and online formats
- The candidates should possess project coordination and project or event management experience, including implementing multiple projects with conflicting deadlines, analyzing and evaluating projects, monitoring and tracking progress, and communication to stakeholders and senior management
- The candidates should have experience with a variety of software packages, including MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn new software
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail, and the ability to set priorities
- The candidates should possess highly developed analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- The candidates should have knowledge of leading practices in adult training and learning methodologies, including diverse learning styles
- The candidates should be familiar with and have the ability to appropriately apply applicable government legislation and statutes such as the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Collective Agreements, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, employment standards, and labour and human rights
- The candidates should have knowledge in multiple facets of an Election event, including the understanding of related legislation and the interdependencies of large-scale election projects
- The candidates should have a broad understanding of government and the independent role of the City Clerk in conducting elections
- The candidates should be able to establish training schedules, secure facility permits, assign trainers and attendance clerks, and populate software and systems with schedules and assignments and  assist in the hiring, training, and orientation of election assistants, trainers and attendance clerks
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to contribute to the development of the training plan, identifying improvements and opportunities for modernization and innovation and to coordinate the distribution and management of supplies, materials and equipment to training sites
- The candidates should be able to implement detailed plans and recommend policies regarding program-specific requirements, including overall scheduling of projects, and report on the status of all subprojects
- The candidates should be able to design and develop traditional and online training materials and modules in accessible formats, deliver, facilitate and support training sessions at numerous sites across the city
- The candidates should be able to develop templates for project deliverables for stakeholder use, evaluate their effectiveness, and make modifications to ensure ease of use and quality of work outputs
- The candidates should be able to supervise the day-to-day operations of assigned staff, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work. They should be able to authorize and coordinate vacation and overtime requests, monitor and evaluate staff performance, hear grievances, and recommend disciplinary action
- The candidates should be able to provide support to the Manager and Project Manager, Toronto Elections, and assigned project teams in developing reports and presentations to Committee Council and senior City officials, input and administer assigned budgets, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations
- The candidates should be able to identify and advise the Project Manager, Toronto Elections, and the project teams of efficiencies and the effectiveness of services provided while ensuring work plan objectives and goals are met
- The candidates should be able to exercise sound judgment, integrity, and fairness in dealing with sensitive and controversial matters and to act on behalf of the Project Manager, Toronto Elections in their absence
- The candidates should be able to understand and act in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other relevant legislation and associated regulations
