Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as Degree in Engineering or Architecture
Experience: Candidates should have two years of project management experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should display the ability to work in a high-stress multi-tasking environment with tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to work closely with consultants and contractors
  • The candidates should possess the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with a diverse group of clients and staff

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess knowledge of project management in a northern environment and should acquire the skills and abilities most commonly through several years of related experience
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the project process, including project planning, scheduling, contracting, supervision of professional consultants and contractors, and inspections
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written and should exhibit planning, time management, and scheduling skills
  • The candidates should possess negotiating skills required to manage large complex projects and deal with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders and should demonstrate the ability to deal with individuals with a high degree of tact and diplomacy
  • The candidates should have project management skills including estimating and financial skills to develop and control budgets for capital and O&M projects and should demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should have skills and knowledge of software areas such as Computer-Aided Design, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Project Management Systems, and Financial Management Systems

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to manage the project delivery of small to medium Capital and O&M projects on an annual basis, typically with a total annual value of up to $5,000,000
  • The candidates should be able to consult with other Government Departments, Hamlets, Community Organizations, and Non-Government Organizations on related designs
  • The candidates should be able to sign authority of $50,000 for contract initiation and $100,000 for contracts
