Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Post-secondary degree or diploma in Health Informatics, Health Information Management or Health Information Technology or equivalent combination of related education, specialized technical training, and experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience using administrative health databases for statistical reporting and/or research purposes

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and should demonstrate a strong understanding of data management principles and implications of system changes to data collection, management, and analytics
  • The candidates should possess expert knowledge of administrative, clinical, and/or business datasets in one or more health system domains (Acute & Ambulatory, Long Term, and Community Care)
  • The candidates should exhibit strong project management skills, including experience with planning, mapping scope and timelines, assessing risks, resource allocation, execution, tracking, and evaluation
  • The candidates should have strong consensus-building and negotiating skills and should possess excellent written communication skills to create reports based on interpreted data and other complex written materials for different audiences
  • The candidates should have effective verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas and insights to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • The candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex data and statistical concepts
  • The candidates should possess excellent organizational and time management skills to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines
  • The candidates should exhibit strong team-building skills, including the ability to coach, support, and/or lead a team

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the Director, Information Governance
  • The candidates should be able to inform the development of Provincial Information Management and Analytics (PIMA) information management standards by providing expert advice and consultation regarding data definitions, relevant provincial or national data standards, policies, and quality processes, and operational use of the data to stakeholders inside and outside the Department
  • The candidates should be able to investigate and monitor compliance with policy and standards, including working with stakeholders and technology partners to address data quality issues
  • The candidates should be able to represent the Department on provincial and national information management committees and task forces
  • The candidates should be able to develop and lead teams in the execution of data projects
