Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a team environment under minimal supervision and proficient in continuous improvement and equipment reliability techniques

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal endorsement and excellent industrial troubleshooting skills and excel in locating, investigating, and diagnosing failures, irregularities, and malfunctions
  • The candidates should excel at interpreting manuals, blueprints, schematics, written instructions, and maintaining logs

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to receive instructions covering the scheduled preventative maintenance and planned or unplanned repairs, installation, and inspection work to be done
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot machine problems, find the root cause, determine the appropriate corrective course of action, and report to leadership
  • The candidates should be able to perform detailed major preventative maintenance and report all defects and the corresponding corrective actions to be taken, including identifying issues such as misalignment, wear, and insufficient lubrication
  • The candidates should be able to advise immediately when shutdown of equipment is required to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect on the employee or machine
  • The candidates should be able to dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment
  • The candidates should be able to adjust equipment for proper operating characteristics, such as clutch and brake systems
  • The candidates should be able to make temporary or permanent repairs and perform machining or welding
  • The candidates should be able to assemble and align gears, bearings, and shafts, including applying press, sliding, and running fits, and align shaft to shaft couplings
  • The candidates should be able to plan repair jobs, select tools, equipment, and material for the job, and determine the best way to make repairs
  • The candidates should be able to erect scaffolds and perform rigging and work as part of a repair crew and be subject to call-in for emergency breakdowns
