Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, food allergy and anaphylaxis training, member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety: Immunization records and vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be physically capable of meeting demanding tasks, prepared for repetitive tasks, and comfortable with tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling
• The candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and adapt to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during work hours

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should prioritize punctuality and exhibit dependability in fulfilling their responsibilities
• The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication with colleagues and clients and excel in both oral and written communication
• The candidates should demonstrate flexibility and interpersonal awareness to navigate various social dynamics
• The candidates should show reliability in fulfilling their duties and commitments and be team players, fostering collaboration within the team
• The candidates should uphold strong values and ethics in their work

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, lead activities, and assist early childhood educators in record-keeping
• The candidates should be able to encourage children’s creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, guide them in developing proper habits, and observe for signs of learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports when necessary
• The candidates should have knowledge of licensing regulations, establish guidelines for behavior, and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
• The candidates should establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers, plan and maintain an environment ensuring children’s health, security, and well-being, and supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants
