Salary: $21.00 to $27.37 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Credentials: Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Tuberculosis test and Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in air-conditioned environments, proficient in handling repetitive tasks, and adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required, showcasing flexibility in various physical postures

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual in their work commitments, demonstrating reliability in fulfilling job responsibilities and upholding strong values and ethics in the workplace
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing work situations, showcasing adaptability in their professional roles
  • The candidates should be effective team players, collaborating seamlessly with colleagues to achieve collective goals

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to engage in storytelling and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • The candidates should be able to provide opportunities for children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should have knowledge of licensing regulations and establish guidelines for behavior
  • The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, and attend staff meetings for this purpose
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, as well as plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
