Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have graduated from an approved school of nursing program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to constantly move or lift up to 10 lbs., regularly move or lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally restrain or reposition, move or lift up to 30 lbs. They should also be able to push or pull up to medium force
  • The candidates should be able to constantly stand or walk and work in awkward or cramped positions to assist with procedures
  • The candidates should have the ability to use fine finger or precision, auditory, sensory, and visual concentration constantly to provide and conduct risk assessments, observe, monitor patients, complete documents, follow directions, administer medications
  • The candidates should be prepared to work under time pressures, deadlines, and situations where there is a lack of control over the work pace

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a current practicing license with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL)
  • The candidates should have a satisfactory record of work performance

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to coordinate and participate in the delivery of holistic and supportive care to patients, clients, residents by assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care
  • The candidates should be able to provide health promotion, curative, supportive, rehabilitative, and palliative services as part of their care delivery
  • The candidates should be able to provide professional supervision, direction, or mentoring to the nursing care team and support other members of the interprofessional team to ensure safe and effective care to patients
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that documentation and nursing policies and practices are followed
  • The candidates should be able to work collaboratively with families to ensure the highest standard of care is provided to patients, clients or residents
