Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience and Psychology
Experience: Candidates should have one or more years experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess the ability for self-directed learning or working, as well as collaboration and teamwork, with an interest in training other members of the team
  • The candidates should have the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have previous experience in conducting human research clinical trials and human laboratory experiments
  • The candidates should have previous experience working with human participants, including recruitment and administering standardized clinical interviews for DSM-IV or -5 (SCID-IV or -5) and other clinical assessment scales
  • The candidates should have experience with cannabis and driving simulation research and explain complex issues in plain language both verbally and in writing
  • The candidates should have experience assisting with REB submissions and Clinical Trials Application (CTA) preparation (or similar regulatory submissions)
  • The candidates should have previous experience working with clients in the mental health and substance use health field
  • The candidates should have very strong interpersonal skills, combined with well-developed critical thinking abilities, flexibility, and initiative

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the study lead and Laboratory Head, including recruitment, screening, consenting, and follow-up of study participants
  • The candidates should be able to handle data collection and database maintenance, and prepare and maintain participant research records
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate competency in following best practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and policies
  • The candidates should be able to assist with ethics board and other regulatory submissions, data analysis, and preparation of presentations and manuscripts
  • The candidates should be able to provide regular updates to the PI/Lab Head (and project coordinator) and support the research team in other research-related duties
  • The candidates should be able to interact with scientists and stakeholders with various research backgrounds and have a strong interest in translational science
  • The candidates should be able to support a workplace that embraces diversity and encourages teamwork
  • The candidates should be able to research background and be capable of conducting daily tasks with minimal supervision
