BC Tree Fruits based in Oliver, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Sanitation Cleanup- Graveyard. BC Tree Fruits has been bringing the communities of the Okanagan Valley together with delicious, top of the line fruits since 1936. Our 300 plus local grower families work together as part of a larger community. We are constantly working to improve the quality of the fruit our growers produce including assistance with sales, marketing, accounting, technology, shipping and regulation compliance. Work Setting: Operations
Work Site Environment: Candidates should work around moving equipment, in water, in cramped, confined or enclosed spaces, with diluted cleaning chemicals, or at heights such as ladder work or on scissor lifts
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1-2 years
Physical Requirements:

- The candidate should be able to maintain WorkSafe BC regulations
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have an excellent written communication skill

- The candidate should be able to perform tasks to the required standards
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to clean of production equipment, tools and surfaces in packing areas as well as work areas and floors
- The candidate should be able to clean of surfaces in adjacent cold storage facilities and hallways as well as building exteriors
- The candidate should be able to sanitize of all cleaned food contact surfaces, removal of garbage, fruit rot and debris from lines
- The candidate should be able for deep cleaning activities (monthly and annual tasks)
- The candidate should be able for draining, cleaning and filling water flume systems, tanks and ORP systems as well as chlorination of water systems as required
- The candidate should be able for operation of machinery such as belts and rollers for the purposes of cleaning
- The candidate should be able to ensure all activities are recorded on Janitorial Logs in a detailed, truthful manner that accurately reflects the work performed and ensure effective, corrective actions are recorded for activities not completed as per the schedule
- The candidate should be able to adhere to all pertinent SSOP’s, cleaning schedules (as per Janitorial logs), Safe Work Procedures and Food Safety requirements as outlined in the Cooperative’s Food Safety program and your training
- The candidate should be able to perform other duties as assigned by Management within the context of custodial work, including but not limited to painting and security checks of the premises
