Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant fields; Accounting Designation
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work with Excel to manipulate large sets of data

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have with railroad-related experience being desirable and application expertise (desirable) in SAP, BW, BPC

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare consolidated financial statements and related schedules, as well as various operational and financial filings under Canadian, US regulatory accounting standards to regulatory agencies
  • The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with Canadian, US regulatory accounting standards, recognizing that these principles are modified from US GAAP
  • The candidates should be able to identify, analyze, and reconcile US GAAP to regulatory accounting differences and prepare financial and operational statistical analysis on a quarterly and annual basis
  • The candidates should be able to perform journal entries and reconciliations and review, trace, and understand account codes and cost objects on accounting transactions
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate with multiple internal collaborators to acquire and validate information needed for reporting purposes
  • The candidates should be able to identify and analyze improvements to processes and work with teams (corporate reporting, tax, operations, information services) to implement selected solutions
  • The candidates should be able to provide financial data to support price index, cost of capital, and grain revenue-related calculations, and help develop economic information reports
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with government agencies, stay current on regulatory changes and proposals, and analyze the impact of those changes
