Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a university degree in Finance/Accounting or business related discipline
Experience: Candidates should have 2-3 years of corporate tax experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a CPA accounting designation or be working towards completion
  • The candidates should have completed or be willing to complete the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course
  • The candidates should have a solid knowledge of income tax law and administration, financial accounting principles and practices, and the Company and industry operations
  • The candidates should have the ability to review and analyze complex accounting entries
  • The candidates should have experience with and a working knowledge of the Income Tax Act
  • The candidates should demonstrate proven analytical, problem-solving, and accounting skills
  • The candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • The candidates should exhibit strong organizational skills and a commitment to attention to detail
  • The candidates should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Taxprep
  • The candidates should possess strong research skills and experience using tax research platforms such as Taxnet Pro and EY Canadian Tax Library are preferred
  • The candidates should possess working knowledge of Peoplesoft is considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist with the company’s tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting for corporate income taxes as the Senior Tax Analyst
  • The candidates should be able to actively participate in corporate income tax issues impacting different businesses, allowing for the development of tax, analytical, and communication skills
  • The candidates should be able to handle accounting for income taxes, including the preparation of quarterly tax reconciliations and year-end tax provision
  • The candidates should be able to prepare corporate and partnership tax returns and other tax filings on a timely basis
  • The candidates should be able to continuously seek efficiencies to streamline tax compliance processes
  • The candidates should be able to assist in federal and provincial income tax audits, including resolving related tax disputes
  • The candidates should be able to research and assist on issues, as assigned, by examining specific tax legislation and court decisions, and relevant publications to identify available options and determine recommended tax treatments
  • The candidates should be able to stay current on income tax changes, analyze the implications of any changes to federal and provincial tax rules, published rulings, interpretations, and court cases
  • The candidates should be able to prepare schedules to support various tax attributes
  • The candidates should be able to prepare tax installment schedules by comparing expected and previous taxes payable while ensuring accurate and timely tax payments as required by the relevant legislation
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with other business units and provide tax support as needed
  • The candidates should be able to perform other corporate tax-related duties as required
