Employment and Social Development Canada based in Vancouver is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Service Canada Call Centre & Employment Insurance Operations (Payment Services Officer). This pool could also be used to staff similar positions of various tenures (including acting) within Employment and Social Development Canada in Vancouver, British Columbia. All information obtained throughout the selection process, from the time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate the candidates.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of English and Bilingual Language.
Education: The candidate should have a secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives, have an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. For foreign students the criteria is different

  • The candidate should be able to provide required COVID-19 vaccinations
  • The candidate should be able to provide general program and client specific information related to Employment Insurance (EI) and contact clients by phone and use various computer systems to maintain a virtual workload
  • The candidate should be able to take the added challenge of production and quality targets to encourage our success while maintaining service standards to Canadians and help the to understand program-specific legislation, procedures and the processes required to receive services and/or benefits
  • The candidate should have client service and problem solving skills to gather information and analyze claims for benefits
  • The candidate should have strong communication talents and have excellent customer service skills, remains calm when dealing with callers
  • The candidate should have thinking skills and have information-gathering and computer-keyboarding skills
  • The candidate should have passion for helping others and have an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • The candidate should have a secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives, have an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. For foreign students the criteria is different
  • The candidate should have experience in delivering programs or services including obtaining or providing information
  • The candidate should have demonstrating Integrity and Respect and have skills to showing Initiative and Being Action-Oriented
  • The candidate should have skills to thinking things through and working effectively with others
  • The candidate should be able to pay attention to detail and have communication skills
  • The candidate should be able to provide required security clearance
  • The candidate should be willing and able to travel for training purposes and be willing and able to work variable hours, including working weekends and/or shift work and/or overtime, and/or part-time or full time hours based on operational requirements
  • The candidate should have experience in delivering programs or services including obtaining or providing information

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to work in an integrated way between EI call centers and EI processing, to maximize positive outcomes for Employment Insurance clients
