Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in interpreting and applying legislation policies or directives

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should provide proof of education and/or training prior to appointment
  • The candidates should be willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material and willingness and ability to work overtime
  • The candidates should have willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience performing general and operational support duties, such as compiling information and preparing reports, reviewing and identifying errors in reports/documentation, preparing correspondence, completing forms, and data entry
  • The candidates should have experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and experience in providing service to internal and external clients via telephone or email
  • The candidates should possess experience using a minimum of two (2) Police or Government database systems such as CPIC, PROS, ORCA, JOIN, MOVES, NSOR-D, Infopol, or ViCLAS and experience working with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing and should possess effective oral communication skills and ability to manage time and work demands in an environment of multiple priorities
  • The candidates should have key competencies such as thinking things through, working effectively with others, showing initiative and being action-oriented, dependability, and demonstrating integrity and respect
  • The candidates should posses RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance
  • The candidates should know preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide information, guidance, and direction regarding National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) and Sexual Offender Information Registration Act (SOIRA) legislative requirements, policies, processes, systems, and services to NSOR internal and external stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to perform administrative and operational support duties, such as compiling information and preparing reports, responding to Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) requests, reviewing and identifying errors in reports/documentation, preparing correspondence, and completing forms
