Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Master’s degree in Social Work
Experience: Candidates should have three more years of specialized clinical experience working with complex and challenging youth and their families

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of providing supervision for Master of Social Work students and contributing to social work education in collaboration with faculties
  • The candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The candidates should have demonstrated ability, knowledge, and skills in addictions, concurrent disorders, group work, clinical assessment and treatment, harm reduction, and brief treatment models
  • The candidates should have experience and competence in delivering virtual care for both individual and group treatment
  • The candidates should possess knowledge exchange skills and be familiar with community-based resources
  • The candidates should demonstrate a fundamental understanding and application of the recovery model and other current best practices
  • The candidates should have the ability to provide culturally competent services to clients from diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should provide proof of registration and be members in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, 3 years of post-graduate, direct clinical experience in the provision of mental health and addictions treatment
  • The candidates should be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with faculties of Social Work that have affiliation agreements with CAMH
  • The candidates should have formal training and demonstrated knowledge in concurrent disorders, harm reduction, and evidence-based treatment models such as motivational interviewing and dialectical behaviour therapy
  • The candidates should possess strong skills in group facilitation, individual and family counseling, clinical assessment, and treatment
  • The candidates should have knowledge of community resources related to substance abuse and mental health treatment within the youth sector
  • The candidates should consider bilingualism in French and English and proficiency in a second language
  • The candidates should be prepared to complete a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check, with employment conditional upon satisfactory results

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work with clients from diverse populations while demonstrating a harm reduction, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approach to care
  • The candidates should be able to ensure care is coordinated effectively when multiple services are involved
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to program development and support continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • The candidates should be able to provide supervision to students within their respective discipline or demonstrate progress toward meeting the qualifications to do so
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to the teaching of other health professionals as part of interdisciplinary learning
  • The candidates should be able to actively participate in the research activities of the program, perform workload data entry as a job requirement
  • The candidates should be able to support a workplace that embraces diversity, fosters teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements
  • The candidates should be able to work some evening hours and perform other related duties
