Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completed a bachelor’s degree in Social Work
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Community Addictions and Mental Health setting, including outreach work with vulnerable populations
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills and nonviolent crisis intervention training
- The candidates should have the ability to foster partnerships and establish and maintain strong working relationships with public agencies and government
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW)
- The candidates should have knowledge of the philosophy of harm reduction practice, experience working with vulnerable populations
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and provide a range of social work services to patients and their families
- The candidates should be able to conduct psychosocial assessments to evaluate patient and family
- The candidates should be able to implement resource-based interventions to support patient care
- The candidates should be able to provide individual, group, and family treatment, Â conduct risk screenings and provide appropriate counselling
- The candidates should be able to manage and coordinate cases effectively, develop and implement transition or discharge planning strategies
- The candidates should be able to participate in prevention, promotion, and public awareness activitie
