Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should possess a valid Food Handler’s Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of both culinary and leadership experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be in possession of a Culinary Arts Diploma and a valid Red Seal Certificate
  • The candidates should have experience with large quantity food preparation
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to read and follow detailed recipes/instructions as required
  • The candidates should be able to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire
  • The candidates should possess a passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan and prepare meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes, and menus
  • The candidates should be able to order, receive, store, and rotate inventory of all required food and supplies
  • The candidates should be able to maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen to meet legislative and organizational standards
  • The candidates should be able to communicate regularly with clients to ensure satisfaction with foodservice
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and mentor cooks to ensure performance meets standards
