Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed secondary school
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 1–2 years of experience working on vehicles and equipment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate prompt daily attendance at their assigned schedule, be willing to work alternative shifts and supply their own mechanic tools
- The candidates should have good vision, hearing, and the strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment, work in cramped or awkward positions, and lift objects up to 75 lbs
- The candidates should possess strong mechanical ability and an interest in machinery, engines, electronics, and precision equipment
- The candidates should have good diagnostic skills, think logically and keep up with changes in technology

The candidates should have previous mechanical schooling (pre-apprenticeship course, hold an additional trade license in a mechanical trade
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to check graders and other mining equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- The candidates should be able to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on underground equipment including scoops, forklifts, loaders, haul trucks, excavators, and graders
- The candidates should be able to learn how to diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent
- The candidates should be able to learn and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics, adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools
- The candidates should be able to test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure work meets manufacturers’ specifications, clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- The candidates should be able to attach components and adjust new equipment , perform equipment audits and adhere to inspection procedure checklists (including audits, PM’s, Pre-Ops, and Post-Ops)
- The candidates should be able to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- The candidates should be able to create work orders, find parts, and complete parts lists in work orders independently using all available resources
- The candidates should be able to ensure the cleanliness of the shop environment and perform all other related duties
