Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration and social science
Experience: Candidates should have 2 years experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be located in BC at the time of employment, as employees of the BC Public Service
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have an equivalent combination of education and related experience
- The candidates should have experience researching, analyzing, developing, and implementing policy, regulation, and legislation
- The candidates should have experience managing policy projects and project components in a multi-faceted stakeholder environment
- The candidates should have experience writing for an executive or senior-level leadership audience (examples include reports, policy concept papers, presentations and briefing notes)
- The candidates should have experience with workplace health and safety matters in the health and public sector
- The candidates should be prepared to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (CRC)
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to support research, analysis, development, and implementation of occupational health and safety policy projects in the health sector
- The candidates should be able to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholder organizations
- The candidates should be able to use critical analysis to assess workforce health and safety issues that may be complex, highly confidential, and politically sensitive
- The candidates should be able to contribute to BC’s Health Human Resources Strategy by promoting physical and psychological safety and well-being in the workplace
- The candidates should be able to assist in developing and implementing compensation policies and programs, physician and unionized health sector negotiations, and workforce planning and development in support of the Ministry’s strategic direction
