Salary: $17.00 to $20.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 45 hours per week

Location: 960 Chem. Saint-Henri, Sainte-Marthe, QC J0P 1W0, Canada
Transportation information: Valid driver’s license and Own transportation
Type of crops: Soybeans, Strawberries, and Sweet corn
Type of product: Coniferous trees and Deciduous trees

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Equipment and machinery experience: Haying equipment, Manure spreader, Swather, Tractor, and Hand tools
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Gloves

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should have experience in fruit and vegetable combination farming, hay farming, and other miscellaneous crop farming. They should be comfortable working outdoors, in wet/damp, hot, and cold/refrigerated conditions, with a familiarity in soybean farming
• The candidates should be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, managing repetitive tasks that are physically demanding, and requiring attention to detail and sound discrimination.
• The candidates should be capable of working in combination of sitting, standing, and walking, including standing for extended periods and walking, with a possibility of overtime when required
• The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs), up to 9 kg (20 lbs), and more than 45 kg (100 lbs) respectively

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, sound judgment, organizational capabilities, effective teamwork, adherence to values and ethics, and reliability

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
• If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to perform brush collecting, be able to clean crops, and should be able to hand harvest vegetables
• The candidates should be able to handle animals, harvest seedlings, and should be able to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
• The candidates should be able to perform stone and/or wood picking
• The candidates should be able to perform weeding and harvest crops
• The candidates should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• The candidates should be able to clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
• The candidates should be able to detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry
• The candidates should be able to examine produce for quality and prepare it for the market
• The candidates should be able to set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
• The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry
• The candidates should be able to clean the work area
