Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of the twelfth school grade with emphasis on general office practices
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of one year of experience at a Recreation Facility Attendant I level or a comparable equivalent

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience working in a cash environment
  • The candidates should have experience working in a museum, cultural center, or historic site

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge in facility information and effectively seek information from a variety of sources if unsure
  • The candidates should be able to use effective interpersonal techniques to de-escalate difficult situations or enhance the customer experience
  • The candidates should have completed or an appropriate certificate program from an approved school or college
  • The candidates should have demonstrated knowledge in implementing visual merchandising, loss prevention, cash handling, and pricing strategies and ability to communicate in a second language
  • The candidates should have customer service training and familiarity with a variety of related computer software programs, including point of sale, registration software, and other facility-related computerized equipment
  • The candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and demonstrated skills in delivering training
  • The candidates should have demonstrated ability using POS software and an inventory management system and ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • The candidates should hold a current Standard First Aid, CPR C, and AED Certificate(s) and align with our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies
  • The candidates should be able to pass a Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide direct supervision and coaching to Cashiers (RFA Is), including regular feedback, performance reviews, and wage increments
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the hiring of new employees and assist with and conduct training for new and current employees
  • The candidates should be able to schedule Cashiers to ensure Park operational needs are met and delegate and monitor the completion of tasks
  • The candidates should be able to provide consistent and effective quality service to all customers, internal and external, over the phone, email, and in person
  • The candidates should be able to collect facility admissions fees, handle cash, and prepare daily deposits
  • The candidates should be able to consistently perform transactions, registrations, and bookings accurately, timely, and in accordance with established policies, procedures, guidelines, and business processes
  • The candidates should be able to ensure procedures and policies are being followed by employees through regular audits as directed documenting errors and following up and support ticketing through Showclix software
  • The candidates should be able to lead or assist on new or updating current projects, business processes, events, and committees and perform and complete admin duties and tasks safely, accurately, and timely
  • The candidates should be able to ensure all inventoried products are reconciled and logged, including lost and found
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that the front counter is ready when the facility is opened and follows opening and closing procedures and ensure workspace and area are clean and tidy
