Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Bachelors/4 Yr BS Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or Nutrition
Experience: Candidates should have 2 years experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform tasks that involve kneeling, stooping, walking, standing, and bending
  • The candidates should be capable of repetitive motion
  • The candidates should be able to lift weights ranging from 20-25 lbs. from the floor to waist level
  • The candidates should know that Overhead lifting is not required
  • The candidates should be able to carry weights ranging from 20-25 lbs. for a distance of 20 feet

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a valid HACCP Certificate and should be a GFSI Scheme Practitioner
  • The candidates should have basic laboratory experience, including physical and organoleptic testing
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of lab procedures and interpretation of results, product development, and quality assurance
  • The candidates should have experience in conducting sensory panels, physical and organoleptic analyses of food, as well as written summaries of results with recommendations/conclusions
  • The candidates should have experience maintaining lab notes and completing scientific reports and have experience managing outside vendors for quality issues
  • The candidates should demonstrate good leadership, interpersonal skills, and self-direction

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide support to the Food Center Manager and implement Food Safety & Quality procedures, including product analyses, product receiving/shipping, preparation, sensory panels, and portions of larger projects
  • The candidates should be able to manage all aspects of the operations, including performing standard physical and organoleptic evaluations on products, interpreting results, and preparing products for deeper analysis/investigation, reviews, and product presentations to executives and supply partners
  • The candidates should be able to conduct sensory panels by preparing samples and assisting with the tabulation of results and reporting and able to manage specific portions of assigned projects, including quality and process improvement, and maintain knowledge of GFSI Schemes
  • The candidates should be able to assist the Food Center Manager in developing and maintaining GFSI standards and training the production team for GMP’s, SSOP’s, and SOP’s as required and able to conduct and lead HACCP plans for the Food Center, develop all necessary forms and procedures, and maintain the HACCP Registry
  • The candidates should be able to perform daily, weekly, monthly, and as required verifications for each program, calibrate equipment as required, and assist in internal and external plant audits as required
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of recalls and conduct mock recalls independently, collect and review shelf-life/lab results, and perform trend analysis of EMP
  • The candidates should be able to verify and file all required HACCP documents daily, perform sanitation and pre-operation audits as required, and have the ability to hold non-compliant product and make decisions independently as required
