Northcan Construction Ltd is a reliable, trustworthy, and efficient Construction Company. We have highly knowledgeable in-house teams of designers, decorators, engineers, project managers and site supervisors who have vast experience & exposure in handling a variety of interior and exterior renovation projects. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The position of Estimator, construction is approved by LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment)

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel, MS Word
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to work in tight deadlines and distinguish between colours
  • The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be client focus, organized and flexible
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare estimates of Labour and/or material costs, prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications, project cash flow and financing requirements
  • The candidates should be able to estimate pre-contract costs
  • The candidates should be able to utilize quantity take-off procedures, advise on tendering procedures
  • The candidates should be able to set up cost monitoring and reporting systems, monitor and adjust contract expenditures, prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • The candidates should be able to liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
