Salary: $18.00 hourly for 30 to 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Security and safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, and Basic security clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in noisy and hot environments
  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be capable of working under pressure
  • The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and demonstrate attention to detail
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to stand for extended periods

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, be team players, and exhibit initiative
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have a client focus

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate the cash register, process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments, and tabulate the total payment for goods or services required
  • The candidates should be able to calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales, stock shelves, and clean the counter area, and greet customers
  • The candidates should be able to accept reservations or take-out orders, provide customer service, and verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products
  • The candidates should be able to train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, and supervise and check the assembly of trays
  • The candidates should be able to prepare food order summaries for the chef, prepare and submit reports, and prepare budgets and cost estimates
  • The candidates should be able to maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, establish methods to meet work schedules, and establish work schedules
  • The candidates should be able to estimate ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation, ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and have knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres
