Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of secretarial and office administration training
Experience: Candidates should have three years of experience in administrative support, customer client service experience and cash handling
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have customer service training and knowledge of Natural Resources and Renewables policies and regulations, including hunting and fishing license sales
- The candidates should have experience and training in radio communication and knowledge of forest fire suppression activities
- The candidates should have knowledge of occupational health and safety act and regulations
- The candidates should have experience coordinating duties such as calendar management and composing and editing correspondence
- The candidates should have a valid NS Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent and a valid (Standard) First Aid Certificate and WHMIS Training
- The candidates should have working knowledge, and previous experience in computer use, including internet, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook email, and web-based applications
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate radio and telephones to communicate effectively with team members and clients
- The candidates should be able to perform data entry accurately and efficiently and process mail in a timely and organized manner
- The candidates should be able to perform photocopying, scanning, and faxing duties and process the sale of various hunting and fishing licenses and permits
- The candidates should be able to assist in preparing, organizing, and maintaining an electronic or manual file management system
- The candidates should be able to maintain and update several departmental/government databases and computerized systems and assist in the management of the Park Registration and Reservation System
- The candidates should be able to act as Commissioner of Oaths in accordance with the Notaries and Commissioners Act for administering oaths
