Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of grade 12 education
Experience: Candidates should have experience in customer service delivery dealing directly with the public and staff

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to keep work and passenger access areas free of hazards and debris
  • The candidates should be physically capable of performing required duties
  • The candidates should have the ability to handle the operation of security gates and passenger
  • The candidates should be available to work weekends, holidays and shifts

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to meet all aspects of Marine Security (MARSEC) protocol and regulations
  • The candidates should have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • The candidates should possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal courteously with the public and staff
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work, including WHMIS

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure the operation of security gates and passenger
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the compound is secure, clear of hazards and debris, and meets all aspects of MARSEC protocol
  • The candidates should be able to communicate delays and provide information to patrons as directed by Captain, mates and supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to ensure assistance to patrons with accessibility
