Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have two years of directly work experience providing customer service in an office setting managing inbound calls, data entry and filing
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to keyboard at 40 words per minute, work independently, with minimal supervision, and initiate responsible action
- The candidates should possess excellent organization and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and ensure deadlines are met
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure and handle stressful situations, ensuring composure is maintained and customers are handled in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have GED, knowledge of Transit’s bus routes and system operating procedures
- The candidates should demonstrate proficiency, at a basic level, in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- The candidates should have effective verbal communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely
- The candidates should have effective written communication skills with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, experience dealing with confidential information
- The candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and various levels of Transit and City of Winnipeg personnel in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to respond in a courteous and timely manner to customer inquiries, requests, complaints, and commendations, identify the nature of customer calls and, where possible, resolve concerns at the initial point of contact
- The candidates should be able to prepare Customer Service Request Forms using the Response Computer Tracking System, ensuring accurate recording of the customer’s request and relevant details
- The candidates should be able to prioritize customer requests by determining whether they are emergent or non-emergent cases, forward Customer Service Request Forms to the appropriate personnel for follow-up and action
- The candidates should be able to monitor the progress of Customer Service Request Forms and contact responsible personnel when necessary to prompt timely resolution, provide customers with status updates on their requests
- The candidates should be able to consult with responsible personnel to obtain accurate information and ensure customers receive correct and appropriate responses, update Customer Service Request Forms with any new or additional information
- The candidates should be able to provide final responses to customers via phone, email, or written correspondence, ensuring proper closure of the customer’s file
- The candidates should be able to ensure the section’s records and files are accurately maintained and up to date
- The candidates should be able to provide coverage at customer service centres, provide coverage for Clerk C duties
