Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of hold a university honors degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or English
Experience: Candidates should have at least five years of experience in fundraising communications, journalism, specialized marketing, marketing research, or e-marketing

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have proven ability to write and edit while adhering to strict deadlines, develop and implement innovative and engaging communications, event promotions, and marketing plans
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management, donors, prominent alumni, faculty, staff, and suppliers to the university and the capacity to manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously
  • The candidates should be prepared for frequent, mandatory overtime work on weekends and weeknights (2-4 times/month) and mandatory travel to alumni and corporate events (2-4 times/month)
  • The candidates should display a high level of professional flexibility, with experience in a fundraising environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess superior interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills and work with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment
  • The candidates should exhibit exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, along with familiarity with the technical back-end knowledge of web design and editing
  • The candidates should have experience in evaluating technologies and communications initiatives
  • The candidates should have experience in designing and developing communication strategies, particularly in electronic and social platforms, such as crowdfunding
  • The candidates should have extensive writing and editing experience, which is essential for this role

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report directly to the Director of Advancement Communications, ensuring alignment with departmental goals
  • The candidates should be able to provide strategic communications and marketing advice tailored to the department’s
  • The candidates should be able to focus on digital solutions to enhance communication strategies effectively
  • The candidates should be able to develop strategies that support the department in achieving its fundraising and engagement objectives
