Work setting: Rural area

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: Cattle breeding and Dairy cattle

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be experienced in livestock combination farming and accustomed to working in wet or damp conditions, with experience in livestock management

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to handle physically demanding tasks while demonstrating attention to detail

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist in calving and provide agricultural livestock services such as artificial insemination, spraying or shearing of livestock, or disinfecting pens, barns, or poultry houses
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures and develop work schedules and establish procedures
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, maintain livestock performance records, and recognize and treat certain livestock health problems
  • The candidates should be able to milk cows and clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
  • The candidates should be able to provide agricultural livestock services such as artificial insemination, spraying or shearing of livestock, or disinfecting pens, barns, or poultry houses, and maintain work records and logs
  • The candidates should be able to perform general farm duties and set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
