Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Area of specialization: Dairy cattle

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be experienced in livestock combination farming
  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and able to work in wet or damp conditions
  • The candidates should be tolerant of odors associated with livestock
  • The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks and capable of handling heavy loads
  • The candidates should be physically fit to handle demanding tasks and have a keen attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling as necessary

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be quick learners

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide cattle training and manage feed inventory
  • The candidates should be able to perform livestock branding, monitor animal health, and feed and tend to animals
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, milk cows, and clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
  • The candidates should be able to detect diseases and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry, recognize and treat certain livestock health problems, and maintain livestock performance records
  • The candidates should be able to provide agricultural livestock services such as artificial insemination, spraying, or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns, or poultry houses
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
