Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority based in Bradford, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Custodian. Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority is a key steward of the Lake Simcoe watershed, dedicated to protecting and restoring its natural resources. With a focus on watershed management, conservation, and environmental education, they work collaboratively with communities, governments, and stakeholders to ensure the health and sustainability of the region’s ecosystems. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $19.13 to $23.91 hourly (To be negotiated) for 15 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract (ending: 2025-06-27) Part time
Location: Bradford, ON
Work setting: Office building

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Area of specialization: Cleaning
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and First Aid Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in all weather conditions
  • The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required while being skilled in weight handling, up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit dependability and demonstrate excellent oral communication
  • The candidates should display flexibility, show initiative, and demonstrate good judgment
  • The candidates should be organized and reliable

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, stairs, and other surfaces
  • The candidates should be able to empty trash cans and other waste containers, as well as wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings
  • The candidates should be able to perform routine maintenance jobs such as painting, drywall repair, and cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and fixtures, all with minimal supervision
