Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend and Morning
Work Setting: Work in employer’s or client’s home, urban area and social service or charity agency
Work Site Environment: Candidates should work in personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders) and socio-economic needs or conditions (housing, nutrition, unemployment, financial assistance)
Security and Safety: Criminal record should checked and driving record should checked (abstract)

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses: Candidates must have First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
Target Audience: Elderly, females, males, persons with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), persons with an intellectual disability, persons with learning disabilities, persons with mental health disabilities and persons with physical disabilities

  • The candidate should be able to provide suicide and crisis intervention
  • The candidate should be able to resolve conflict situations
  • The candidate should be able to implement behaviour management programs
  • The candidate should be able to liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients
  • The candidate should be able to assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs
  • The candidate should be able to assist clients/guests with special needs
  • The candidate should be able to accompany clients to appointments and social outings
