Salary: $16.00 to $17.04 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Work setting: Child care centre and Urban area

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Experience with special needs children: Children with behavioural issues, Children with allergies and Children with asthma
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Child Abuse Registry check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and adaptable to air-conditioned environments
  • The candidates should be at ease with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual in their work commitments and exhibit dependability in fulfilling job responsibilities
  • The candidates should be equipped with efficient interpersonal skills and possess excellent oral communication skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing work situations and show interpersonal awareness in their interactions
  • The candidates should exercise sound judgment in decision-making and be reliable in meeting job responsibilities
  • The candidates should be effective team players, collaborating seamlessly with colleagues, and uphold strong values and ethics in the workplace

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, engage in storytelling, and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and assist in keeping records
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, and provide opportunities for children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment, assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, and prepare snacks while arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about licensing regulations, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
