Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualification such as High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School – or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates need 5+ years’ experience servicing construction equipment
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have a Trade certification as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician
- The candidate should have the ability to diagnose and complete advanced mechanical repairs, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems and also have the ability to troubleshoot and make minor mechanical repairs to equipment
- The candidate should have the ability to read and understand technical repair and parts manuals for equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other components and also have familiarity with the construction field environment (landscape, home building, remodeling, etc.)
- The candidate should have light construction equipment maintenance knowledge and/or skills including small engines and hydraulics and also have the ability to conduct preventive maintenance on equipment
- The candidate should have a Valid driver’s license and also have safe driving record
- The candidate should have the ability to drive in a MOT capacity and also have familiarity with inventory management
- The candidate should have the working knowledge of handheld technology (smartphone, laptop, tablet) and also have the ability to work effectively with different personality types and all levels of associates
- The candidate should have the ability to operate in extreme outdoor working conditions, have strong work ethic and also have the knowledge of #HTFP
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to perform a full range of equipment repairs on light construction equipment
- The candidate should be able to report to the Regional Manager, and be responsible for repairs and maintenance on all equipment at an assigned group of stores in the region
- The candidate should be able to tasked with ensuring that all equipment is either rental-ready, or is being addressed in order to return it to rental-ready status also may perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, aerial equipment inspections, and delivery of equipment to customers or store locations
- The candidate should be responsible for maintaining a fleet of rental equipment at an assigned set of store locations and also perform all types of repairs and maintenance on THD Rental equipment fleet.
- The candidate should be able to address all components of the machine, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, fuel systems, and brake systems and also diagnose problems with equipment to determine needed repairs, and perform repairs in order to return equipment to rental ready status.
- The candidate should be able to accomplish the more challenging diagnostic and repair work for the field technician team and also make daily reviews of the Down Equipment Report and communicate with the Regional Manager to prioritize repairs and service calls.
- The candidate should be able to provide leadership within the area and also procure parts needed for repairs in order to facilitate prompt repair of equipment.
- The candidate should be able to maintain accurate parts inventory in vehicle or shop locations and also communicate with other technicians, store associates, and customers in order to fully understand the mechanical problems being reported.
- The candidate should be able to perform testing of equipment to validate that issues have been corrected and also utilize the company technology platform to document all work performed on equipment, including labor and parts.
- The candidate should be able to inspect equipment for proper security, ensuring that all trailer and equipment locks are in place and also train Field and Rental Center associates in the proper operation of the equipment and large equipment operating procedures.
- The candidate should be able to interface with Home Depot managers (Tool Rental, Pro Desk, Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, etc.) to explain the large equipment program and address specific concerns and also assist with equipment deliveries and pick-ups as required.
- The candidate should be able to deploy new equipment to store locations, including performing PDIs, delivering to the store, and training store associates on operation of the equipment and also perform work at store locations, company shop locations, and job sites.
- The candidate should be available on call with a rotating schedule including nights and weekends and also perform other duties assigned by the Regional Rental Manager or authorized personnel.
