Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Target audience: College/University students
Credentials: Child development worker (ECE level 2), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate, CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Vulnerable sector check, Criminal record check
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be punctual, dependable, reliable, and judgmental
- The candidates should have interpersonal awareness, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
- The candidates should be able to provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, knowledge of licensing regulations, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children, identify childrens’ individual learning needs
- The candidates should be able to supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
