Salary: $20.00 to $24.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 40 hours per week

Location: Vancouver, BC & Burnaby, BC
Shifts: Day
Work setting: Child care centre, Before and after school programs and Day care centre or nursery school
Supervision: 1 to 2 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Immunization records and Vulnerable sector check
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be punctual, consistently arriving on time and adhering to schedules
- The candidates should be dependable, reliably fulfilling responsibilities and commitments
- The candidates should be reliable, demonstrating consistency and trustworthiness in their work
- The candidates should be a team player, fostering collaboration and contributing positively to group dynamics
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to lead activities, such as telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to engage children in various activities, including storytelling, song teaching, and craft preparation
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, ensuring a comfortable environment
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discussing progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, prioritizing their overall welfare
