Salary: $25.00 hourly for 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day
Work setting: Child care centre
Supervision: 1 to 2 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Target audience for example children
Credentials: Memberships, courses, licenses, and certificates, early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, and first Aid Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smoking
  • The candidates should be air conditioned

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual and dependable
  • The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The candidates should be reliable team players
  • The candidates should demonstrate creativity and be able to multitask

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, lead activities, and encourage children to express creativity
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and maintain daycare equipment
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers, and plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
