Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificates
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of handling repetitive tasks and demonstrate attention to detail
  • The candidates should be physically fit to meet demanding job requirements and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed while possessing manual dexterity

  • The candidates should be punctual and exhibit dependability in fulfilling job responsibilities
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate excellent oral communication abilities
  • The candidates should display flexibility in their approach to tasks and show interpersonal awareness in their interactions

  • The candidates should be a team player while upholding values and ethics in their professional conduct

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers while developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should engage in storytelling, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest. They should also supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers
  • The candidates should order supplies and equipment, supporting early childhood educators in carrying out programs that foster the development of children. Additionally, they should assist in keeping records and engage children in various activities like storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • The candidates should provide opportunities for children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, guiding them in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should maintain daycare equipment, assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, and prepare snacks. They should observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, submitting written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • The candidates should discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, demonstrating knowledge of the Day Nurseries Act and licensing regulations. They should establish guidelines for behavior and assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discussing progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • The candidates should attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  •  The candidates should plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours, as well as supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
