Salary: $25.00 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent employment
Location: Goodeve, SK
Shifts: Day, Weekend and Overtime
Work setting: Rural area, staff accommodation is available, remote location and willing to relocate
Work site environment: Candidates should work in organic farming and outdoors
Own tools/equipment: Candidates should have safety equipment/gear and gloves
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work overtime, pay attention to detail and also for large workload
- The candidate should be physically strong and also a combination of sitting, standing, walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in an organized way and also a team player
- The candidate should have an excellent oral and written communication
- The candidate should have experience of equipment and machinery like Automated irrigation system, Bulk handling system, Feeding and watering system, Fertilizer applicator, Seed drill, Harvesters, Vegetable or fruit harvester, Storage and silage system and also Tractor
- The candidate should be able to supervise 3-4 people
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able for harvesting seedlings, seed cutting and also soil fertility programs
- The candidate should be able to assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures, maintain financial and production records, negotiate with clients for provision of services, develop work schedules and establish procedures, maintain quality control and production records and also maintain work records and logs
- The candidate should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, provide agricultural livestock services such as artificial insemination, spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses, develop work schedules and establish procedures, ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed, supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations and also perform general farm duties
- The candidate should be able to co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers and also hire and train staff
