LCP Farms Inc based in Mount Brydges, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Fruit packer – farm. LCP Farms Inc is owned and operated by Peter and Tracy Gubbels. We grow 120 acres of melons and take great pride in growing the best product we can. We employ up to 40 people in the harvest season, varying in age from students to retirees, twenty-six are Canadian and support our local economy as much as possible, any products and services that are needed for the melon crop are sought locally first. We continue to seek local suppliers for all input products. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $15.50 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week

Location: Mount Brydges, ON
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime, Early Morning and Morning
Work site environment: Candidates should work in other vegetables and melon farming (except potato), outdoors, wet/damp, dusty, hot place and harvest crops
Transportation/travel information: Own transportation required
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Type of crops: Melons and Vegetables
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work overtime, in fast-paced environment, pay attention to detail, perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods and also for bending, crouching, kneeling
- The candidate should be physically strong and also have hand-eye co-ordination
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able for hand harvesting vegetables and also grading
- The candidate should be able to sort and pack fruits and vegetables, load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry, clean work area, operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment and also examine produce for quality and prepare for market
- The candidate should be able to clean crop, hoe crops, pick row and orchard crops and also plant, cultivate and irrigate crops
