Van Meekeren Farms Ltd., a apple farm was founded on 1964 as Glooscap apple brand named after a mythical hero, god, and transformer of the native people of Atlantic Canada and in other parts of North America. We started Integrated Pest Management and Integrated Fruit Production test to reduce our impact on the environment as a farm. Popular apple varieties grown on our farm such as Ben Davis, McIntosh, King, Spy, Melba, Bishop Pippen and Cox Orange to name a few. We are known to provide satisfaction to our customers, that they don’t have to go to any one else after getting the best services from us.

Salary: $14.50 hourly for 35 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time
Location: Kentville, NS
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Early Morning, and Morning
Work Location Information: The area is rural
Work Site Environment: Candidates should work outdoors, at heights, in wet or damp and in hot place
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a secondary high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Type of Farm Operations: Fruit and vegetable combination farming
Type of Crops: Orchard fruit; Apples
Physical Requirements:

- The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods
- The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- The candidate should be able to perform repetitive tasks
- The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads
- The candidate should be able to manually dexter
- The candidate should have hand-eye coordination
- The candidate should be able to distinguish between colors
- The candidate should be able for bending, crouching, kneeling
