La Résidence Communautaire AIC/ACL Community Residence is a supportive living community dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Providing a nurturing and inclusive environment, La Résidence offers personalized care and support services tailored to the unique needs of each resident. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $16.00 hourly for 16 to 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Part time – Student job
Location: 22 rue Côté Grand Falls, NB E3Y 1C4
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, On Call, Morning
Work setting: Rural area and nursing home/home for the aged

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Bilingual Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Student status: Full-time enrollment
Credentials: First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Child Abuse Registry check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and be able to work effectively under pressure
  • The candidates should be physically capable of meeting demanding tasks and demonstrate attention to detail
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as necessary
  • The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, demonstrate excellent oral communication, and exhibit interpersonal awareness
  • The candidates should exercise good judgment, prioritize client focus, and show flexibility in their approach
  • The candidates should take initiative, be effective team players, demonstrate dependability, and be reliable

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform housekeeping activities efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and organization in living spaces, and prepare food according to dietary requirements and meal plans, ensuring safety and nutritional standards are met
  • The candidates should be able to resolve conflict situations calmly and effectively, promoting positive interactions among individuals, and supervise activities of clients living in group homes and halfway houses, providing support and guidance as needed
  • The candidates should be able to administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers safely and with compassion, ensuring their comfort during transit
  • The candidates should be able to serve meal trays and feed patients who require assistance with eating, following dietary guidelines and ensuring adequate nutrition, and make beds and maintain patients’ rooms tidy and organized, creating a comfortable environment for recovery
  • The candidates should be able to collect specimens for medical testing as required, following proper protocols and ensuring accuracy, and bathe, dress, and groom patients with care and sensitivity, respecting their dignity and privacy
  • The candidates should be able to answer call signals promptly to determine patients’ needs and provide assistance as required, and supply and empty bedpans as needed, maintaining hygiene and comfort for patients
  • The candidates should be able to weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely and with proper technique, preventing injury and promoting mobility, and administer first aid in emergency situations, providing immediate care and seeking further medical assistance as necessary
