Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in the trade

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, high-stress environment, be team players
  • The candidates should be available to work a variety of day shifts as well as weekends and holidays and the ability to travel
  • The candidates should meet Air Canada medical standards, including passing a medical evaluation with a drug and alcohol test
  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of any employment offer and be responsible for obtaining any required work permits/visas or other authorizations

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a License C (excluding construction), an Industrial Electrician Interprovincial Red Seal, experience with DC/AC Power, successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, good written and verbal communication skills
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations depending on the work location

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment and industrial equipment, including associated electrical and electronic controls
  • The candidates should be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and the Canadian Electrical Code to ensure compliance and accuracy in electrical work
  • The candidates should be able to test electrical and electronic equipment and components to assess serviceability and identify issues
  • The candidates should be able to maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, transformers, industrial forklift batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • The candidates should be able to conduct preventative maintenance programs on powered and non-powered aircraft ground support equipment
  • The candidates should be able to install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices to ensure proper operation and efficiency
