Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in the relevant field
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in applications for habeas corpus
  • The candidates should have experience advising clients on civil procedure and/or interpretation of legislation
  • The candidates should have experience in applications for judicial review

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to appear before administrative tribunals, the Supreme Court, Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada
  • The candidates should be able to consult with client Deputy Ministers, Executive Directors, and other senior leaders on matters involving law, negotiation, tactics, or public policy
  • The candidates should be able to serve on interdepartmental committees and project teams with senior and intermediate staff of client departments
