Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience working in a recreation setting

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should meet the minimum age requirement of 15 years

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should possess good communication and public relations skills, maintaining a positive professional attitude in a team environment
  • The candidate should demonstrate judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness up to National Lifeguard standards
  • The candidates should possess current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification, Standard First Aid (CPR “C” level), Lifesaving Swim Instructor, and Lifesaving Instructor qualifications
  • The candidates should have current certifications as a Bronze examiner, National Lifeguard Instructor, and First Aid Instructor and prepared to provide a current Police Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to actively lifeguard the facility, ensuring safety for all patrons and instruct Learn to Swim and Swim to Survive programs
  • The candidate should be able to provide water safety education to customers and the community
  • The candidate should be able to work closely with other staff and volunteers as part of the Aquatics and Fitness Team
  • The candidate should be able to provide excellent customer service and help maintain a clean environment
  • The candidate should be able to attend all mandatory scheduled meetings and staff trainings for ongoing development
  • The candidate should be able to demonstrate lifeguarding, fitness, and rescue skills at or above the National Lifeguard standard and  maintain current certifications throughout their employment
  • The candidate should be able to complete work-related tasks during off rotations, including pool deck maintenance and providing administrative support
