Salary: $22.50 hourly for 30 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Brantford, ON
Shifts: Day, 08:00 to 15:00
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis (Note: This is NOT a condition of employment), rural area, and work in employer’s/client’s home.
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: Elderly
Cuisine specialties: Caribbean and Latin American cuisine
Credentials: CPR certificate and first aid certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling, and able to handle heavy loads
- The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks and able to stand for extended periods
- The candidates should be comfortable walking.
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should prioritize punctuality and demonstrate client focus, exhibit dependability, and possess efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication, be flexible, and exercise good judgment
- The candidates should be organized and show reliability
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, and assist in regular exercise, e.g., walking, as needed
- The candidates should be able to launder clothing and household linens proficiently, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties effectively, and provide companionship to clients in a caring manner
- The candidates should be able to provide personal care according to individual needs, shop for food and household supplies efficiently, and administer first aid and other forms of assistance appropriately
- The candidates should be able to sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand meticulously, perform personal and business errands for employers reliably, and drive employers, including family members, to and from destinations safely
- The candidates should be able to prepare and cook meals or specialty foods as required
