Westlock Intermunicipal Library based in Westlock, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Literacy coach. Westlock Intermunicipal Library is a literary hub enriching the lives of locals. Offering a vast collection of books, multimedia resources, and educational programs, we serve as a knowledge nexus for all ages. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Job Description:

Position: Literacy coach
No of Vacancies: 1
Salary: $21.00 to $23.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 14 to 21 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time
Location: Westlock, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Flexible Hours, To be determined
Transportation information: Own transportation, Willing to travel
Work setting: Library
Supervision: 1 to 2 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Community services, Literacy, Second language education, Computer-based training
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Vulnerable sector check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be dedicated to client focus and possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication and showcase excellent written communication
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility in their work approach and be effective team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to produce reports and perform administrative tasks
  • The candidates should be able to develop the structure, content, and objectives of new programs and provide ongoing professional development, training, and consultative services to teachers
  • The candidates should be able to develop teaching materials and other resources for program delivery, as well as deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, or symposia
  • The candidates should be able to supervise office and volunteer staff
