Transportation information: Public transportation is available
Willing to travel
Work setting: Employer’s home, Own home, Work in employer’s/client’s home, Room and board provided


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Red Cross Babysitting course
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, Criminal record check, Reference required, Vulnerable sector check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience or be knowledgeable in managing children with allergies, and be knowledgeable in caring for children with asthma
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, oral communication, written communication, and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to various situations
  • The candidates should show initiative in taking on responsibilities, exercise good judgment in decision-making, and be organized in their approach to tasks and responsibilities
  • The candidates should be reliable in meeting commitments and deadlines, be a team player, capable of collaborating effectively with others, and demonstrate effective time management skills

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply


  • The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents
  • The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • The candidates should be able to shop for food and household supplies
  • The candidates should be able to travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
  • The candidates should be able to wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens, bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, and be able to discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
  • The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
  • The candidates should be able to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • The candidates should be able to organize activities such as games and outings for children
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals,  prepare infants and children for rest periods, supervise and care for children, and take children to and from school and to appointments
  • The candidates should be able to tend to the emotional well-being of children and help children with homework
