Tesla based in Richmond Hill, Ontario is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Logistics Coordinator. Tesla is building a world powered by solar energy, running on batteries and transported by electric vehicles. We design sustainable systems that are massively scalable—resulting in the greatest environmental benefit possible. Our energy generation and storage products work together with our electric vehicles to amplify their impact. Our vehicles are some of the safest in the world. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should be in possession of a college certificate or university degree in related fields such as International Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in shipping, receiving, and logistics

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-focused environment
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime as required to complete the job
  • The candidates should be goal-oriented, task-oriented, and detail-oriented

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess customer service experience in a manufacturing environment, which is preferred
  • The candidates should be capable of managing dangerous goods shipments
  • The candidates should have experience in data entry and be comfortable using modern technology
  • The candidates should exhibit a “get it done” attitude and a sense of urgency when resolving problems or tasks
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with minimal supervision
  • The candidates should have the ability to work effectively in a team environment, as it is mandatory
  • The candidates should possess good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should be proactive, taking initiative, and willing to constantly learn and adapt to different circumstances
  • The candidates should preferably have familiarity with the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS codes)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prioritize and collaborate with internal stakeholders on daily rush shipments
  • The candidates should be able to daily monitor and update the status of rush shipments to internal and external stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to perform daily order entry of rush and spare parts shipments
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders on daily rush and spare parts shipments
  • The candidates should be able to manage dangerous goods shipments as required
  • The candidates should be able to update the M1 ERP system as required for orders and shipments, including packaging details and customs information
  • The candidates should be able to submit shipment requests to Ad Hoc
  • The candidates should be able to monitor the status of Ad Hoc shipment requests
  • The candidates should be able to print, save, and attach shipping labels, bills of lading (BOL), and customs documents for daily shipments accordingly
  • The candidates should be able to complete packaging and paperwork for daily rush shipments
  • The candidates should be able to send customs documentation to brokers to facilitate clearance support for shipments
  • The candidates should be able to attend Logistics/SRF training sessions with interns
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with the Ad Hoc team for special cases such as Hazmat, LTL, and specialized equipment
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with various freight forwarders, including Air, Ocean, LTL, FTL, and specialized equipment providers
  • The candidates should be able to create CERS declarations as required
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate local shipments and prepare necessary paperwork as needed
  • The candidates should be able to support the procurement team with different shipment requests, including local, international, and returns, as required
  • The candidates should be able to submit claims for courier providers and follow up on their status
  • The candidates should be able to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required by the Logistics team
  • The candidates should be able to provide support on large projects as required by the Logistics team
  • The candidates should be able to assist with maintaining and updating the large project tracker as required by the Logistics team
