Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Grade 10
Experience: Candidates should have up to one month of related experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess the physical capability to perform the ongoing duties of the position and work effectively in a team environment
  • The candidates should be prepared to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess current Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates and understand general facility cleanliness and safe work practices
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about cleaning chemicals and disinfectants and their safe application or procedures
  • The candidates should be familiar with effective cleaning techniques, knowledge of WHMIS and aware of customer service principles
  • The candidates should understand applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with the general public and staff
  • The candidates should have good interpersonal and customer service skills, be polite and punctual and presentable to the public

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform duties associated with the operation and maintenance of all City facilities, including minor maintenance and carpentry tasks, painting, grounds maintenance, snow removal, basic repair duties for facilities equipment, and general housekeeping tasks
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and customer service
  • The candidates should be able to work rotational shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
